Mammillaria spinosissima 10/23/21
I have no idea where I got this plant. I'm not a particular fan of Mammilaria, but I somehow tend to have a few. There are more than 500 species and almost all are Mexican. And if the US hadn't ripped Northern Mexico away from Mexico during the Mexican-American War (read "stolen"), they might all be in Mexico. That's not why I'm not a fan. It's because the things tend to die at my hands, and won't tell me why. The also refuse to teach me Mammillaria-speak so that I might listen to their instructions, if given. Oh, well. There are other cacti.
