Escobaria missouriensis caespitosa SNL155     4/1/20
This plant will not die of ordinary cold. It grows in the plains of Kansas. Actually, it grows in Kansas road cuts now. The plains of Kansas are full of corn. A big plant is fist-sized. It propagates by offsetting ("caespitosa") like crazy, besides coming from seeds. The red fruit form after pollination in the spring, slowly turning red over the summer, and staying red and attached all through winter even until the next flowering.   (24/48)
