Echinofossulocactus erectocentrus SB309 MG299.13     1/18/18
I had taken this plant, the same as above, to show off at my regular bridge game. (I'm an awful show-off when it comes to my cacti. Sorry.) As I happened to look at it, I saw this diminished band of spines midway up the side of the plant. This must correspond to my first China trip in 2014, when I wasn't home that spring to feed my cacti. The plant is a criticism to me of my neglect. Happily, in five or ten years I will no longer see the diminished spines because they'll be buried in the soil level bunch of very old spines. My present feeling of anxiety over my neglect will go away.   (26/32)
