Echinocereus viridiflorus SNL133     12/24/17
This is a plant from the same seed batch, slightly bigger than the previous picture. Note the many more central spines that have formed. Many populations of this species actually stop having central spines with age. I think that this plant very pretty.   The "SNL133" means that I ("SNL") collected the plant material (seeds) that resulted in this plant. It's home is in White Rock Canyon of the Rio Grande River, about five miles from my house. I gave that home the number "133." You can now find explanations of such "collection numbers" on the internet.   (11/32)
