Cranes!
The cranes are now flying in their tens of thousands right over my house on their way to the Bosque del Apache refuge just south of Socorro, NM. This might be my life’s biggest stroke of luck (well, maybe that full ride scholarship to Amherst was a bigger deal, but that was 54 years ago), that without knowing it, I happen to have bought a house in White Rock, NM, in 2003, that sits right under the fall and spring migration route of a population of sandhill cranes. Their chirping and screaming fill the air over my house off and on for about a month. Their V- shaped flights are glorious.   (32/32)
