Matucana haynei atrospina KK536 MG970.232     11/12/16
I’ve been telling you forever that the Matucanas, natives of Peru, which is quite near the equator, seem to bloom whenever they feel like it. After an early spring flowering flush, in the freezing cold, of this species, nothing much happened until about a month ago, when the M. haynei tribe decided to flower, once again in the cold. They are flowering now, in my cold cloche, where the temperature drops below freezing every night. Interesting plants.
