Echinopsis ("Sorceress" X Ralph Peters's yellow hybrid)     5/31/21
Many of us splitter types are having trouble not lumping Trichocereus and Echinopsis. The flower color of "Sorceress" is red, and, happily, the yellow hybrid has a yellow flower. But, this one plant, has a pale lilac flower. I think that if you cross any two members of the two genera, you'll get other colors. We have so hybridized these super popular house plants for the past 200 years that I'm quite sure there are lots of plants whose botanical identity is suspect. They all seem super-promiscuous to me.   (12/48)
