This hybrid is quite winter hardy. It has survived four winters for me in White Rock (6400 feet) in pots, not even planted in the ground. The flowers tend to be dioecious (separate sexes on each plant) and they stay open for several days. These characteristics point to a probable E. coccineus parentage. The pot is 2.5 in (>6 cm) on a side.   (23/56)
